Individuals aged 16 or older with one WorldVybes account. Entrants under 18 need a parent's or guardian's permission, and any prize they win is paid to that parent or guardian. One entry per person: anyone using more than one account, or entering for someone else, is disqualified. Our employees, moderators, and their immediate families and households cannot enter. Residents of countries where we cannot legally send prizes cannot enter; these currently include Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia and Belarus, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Void where prohibited.
Round 1 is open now. Seats close on December 15, 2026 at 23:59 UTC, or as soon as all 100 seats are taken, whichever comes first. The contest runs until the end date shown on this page (13 weeks from the day Round 1 opened). Points count from the moment you get your seat. All times are UTC.
There are 100 seats, given in the order people join. Anyone who joins after all seats are taken, or after December 15, goes on the waiting list. If a seat is released (nothing posted, taught or attended within 7 days of getting the seat, or 14 days in a row without any of them) or its holder is disqualified, it goes to the next person on the waiting list, first come, first served, until 4 weeks before the contest ends. Everyone still on the waiting list when Round 1 ends is automatically placed in Round 2. Those who posted or taught while waiting and broke no rules start Round 2 with a 5-point head start.
The prize pot depends on the number of players holding a seat when the contest ends: fewer than 25, no prizes; 25 to 49, US $250 (1st $125, 2nd $75, 3rd $50); 50 to 74, US $600 (1st $300, 2nd $150, 3rd $75, 4th to 6th $25 each); 75 to 99, US $1,000 (1st $400, 2nd $200, 3rd $100, 4th to 9th $50 each); 100, US $1,500 (1st $700, 2nd $300, 3rd $100, 4th to 11th $50 each). The pot shown on this page updates as seats are taken and released. We may extend the closing date for seats once, by up to 15 days, and will announce any new date on this page. If fewer than 25 players hold a seat at the end, Round 1 ends with no prizes, and we announce it on this page.
Points are counted automatically from what participants do on WorldVybes during the contest, as shown in the points table. Posts count if they are at least 40 characters long and stay published, up to 3 a week. A live class counts when it is a free WorldVybes T&K class lasting at least 60 minutes (5 minutes' grace) with at least 3 different learners; up to 3 classes a week count for teaching and up to 3 for attending. A friend counts as active when they create a new account through your personal link and publish 4 posts, or attend 2 live classes, within their first 30 days. Friends and learners on the same network or device as you, fake accounts, and accounts created to collect points do not count. Paid classes and courses do not earn points.
Posts, classes and comments must follow the community guidelines: no offensive language or images, no political content, no personal attacks, no spam, and nothing copied without permission. A guideline breach earns a warning and −10 points. A second warning ends the entry. We may disqualify anyone who tries to manipulate the scores, and we may review records before paying any prize.
This is a contest of skill and effort; no winner is chosen by chance. At the end, participants who meet all of these conditions qualify: active (posted, taught or attended a counted class) in at least 10 of the 13 weeks, or the same proportion of the weeks after they got their seat; at least 2 active friends, or at least 5 returning learners for those who teach; and no more than one warning. The qualifying participants with the most points win, as many as there are prizes in the pot (rule 4a). Ties are broken in favor of the participant who got their seat first.
Prize amounts are set by the prize pot in rule 4a, up to US $1,500 in total and US $700 for 1st place. If fewer participants qualify than there are prizes, the remaining prizes are not awarded. Prizes are paid within 7 days of the winners being announced: by Zelle in the United States, and by Wise or Remitly elsewhere, in US dollars or the local equivalent. Winners must claim their prize on this page within 30 days and give a full legal name matching their payment account; we may ask for identity verification. Unclaimed prizes pass to the next qualifying participant. Winners are responsible for any taxes on their prize. Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged.
Winners are announced on WorldVybes within 7 days of the contest ending, showing their username, city and country only. No other personal details are published.
Subject to the success of Round 1, a second round will follow with 100 seats and a prize pot that grows with the players, as in rule 4a: fewer than 25, no prizes; 25, US $350 (1st $175, 2nd $100, 3rd $75); 50, US $800 (1st $400, 2nd $200, 3rd $100, 4th to 7th $25 each); 75, US $1,350 (1st $550, 2nd $300, 3rd $150, 4th to 10th $50 each); 100, US $2,000 (1st $900, 2nd $400, 3rd $200, 4th to 13th $50 each). The same rules apply. Waiting-list members from Round 1 get the first Round 2 seats, in the order they joined, with the 5-point head start described in rule 4. Round 1 winners who meet the Round 2 entry rules will be invited and must sign in to take their seat.
If Rounds 1 and 2 succeed, WorldVybes plans a Round 3 with 100 seats and a prize pot that grows with the players: fewer than 25, no prizes; 25, US $450 (1st $225, 2nd $125, 3rd $100); 50, US $1,000 (1st $500, 2nd $250, 3rd $150, 4th to 7th $25 each); 75, US $1,700 (1st $700, 2nd $350, 3rd $200, 4th to 12th $50 each); 100, US $2,500 (1st $1,100, 2nd $500, 3rd $300, 4th to 15th $50 each). When Round 3 ends, every participant from Rounds 1 to 3 who stayed within the rules, whether or not they won a prize, will be automatically enrolled in the WorldVybes earnings program, where members can be paid for their activity. Earnings will be set by the program's own terms, published before it starts, and will depend on each member's activity and continued compliance with the WorldVybes rules and policies; we aim for rates comparable to other social media platforms. WorldVybes also plans to keep running new rounds for at least two years after Round 1, funded by Time & Knowledge revenue. Rounds 2 and 3, later rounds and the earnings program are plans, not guarantees: they depend on the success of the earlier rounds, and no amount of income is promised.
Anyone who wins 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in any round may take part in no more than two rounds in total, counting every round in which they held a seat. This gives new participants a fair chance to win. Places 4 and below are not affected.
Subject to the success of Round 1, WorldVybes plans a special contest for teachers and students alongside Round 2, with US $2,000 in prizes: teachers 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $200, 4th and 5th $100 each; students 1st $250, 2nd $150, 3rd $100, 4th to 9th $50 each. A teacher qualifies by running a named class group on WorldVybes with at least 5 students who attend their live classes; a student qualifies by attending counted live classes in a qualifying group. The Cup runs only if at least 5 teachers qualify, each with at least 5 students. Full Cup rules will be published on this page before it opens. The Cup does not count toward the two-round limit in rule 11a.
We may cancel, suspend or change the contest if fraud, technical problems or events outside our control affect its fairness, and we will announce any change on this page. Our decisions on scoring and eligibility are final. These rules form part of the WorldVybes Terms of Use. The contest is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware.
